During a month-long residency I had the time and space to experiment and push the boundaries of my artistic practice. This is where I began the process of deconstructing and then reconstructing painted silk using machine embroidery and layering different weights and types of silk to create larger scale work. I also collaborated with amazing community members to co-create a series of silk panels that would form part of my upcoming solo show, “Fabric of Community” in the summer of 2024.
