BODIES of WATER – Solo Art Show
ARTSPLACE 396 St.George St., Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, Canada"Bodies of Water" invites viewers into a
tactile and immersive world shaped by silk, stitch, and the elemental beauty of Nova Scotia’s coastal
environment. Opening July 26, 2025, at ARTSPLACE Gallery, this exhibition features a series of silk collages,
soft sculptures, and installations that reflect the artist’s deep connection to the fragile marine landscape where
she lives and works.
Davidson’s process is rooted in intuitive making and formal art training. She begins by hand-painting original
designs onto volumes of silk and linen fabric, which are then deconstructed and recomposed through
thousands of metres of machine embroidery thread and hand stitching.
“Colour is central to her work; she mixes her own silk dyes to create unique combinations that evoke joy and
reverence for the natural world,” said Ted Lind, ARTSPLACE Board Member.
The result is a transformation of materials—an open, playful exploration that engages the senses and the
imagination. Her installations are designed to be experienced physically and emotionally, evoking the wind,
water, and light of fleeting coastal moments.
“Bodies of Water” opening reception Sat. July 26, 2025, 12-2 p.m. Light refreshments
served, all welcome. Exhibition continues through August 30.free
