DESCRIPTION:Member in residence Artist\, Coleen Davidson invites you to join her in an experience of creative play. Coleen will gently guide you through an accessible art making process tuning into your intuition\, and inventiveness. You will create a life-size painting through tracing\, colour and mark making. Realistic images are not the goal\, rather it is tuning into your imagination and letting go of the inner critic. Experience the powerful and joyful feeling of taking up space as you interact with each large painting in a supportive creative community.All welcome no experience required. Pay what you will $35-65 (including materials) \nParticipants will need to bring:\nApron or something to protect clothes from paint.\nGloves to keep hands clean from paint (optional)\nNotebook or journal (for taking notes and writing reflections)\nYoga mat or similar mat to lay on when being traced\nSnack/lunch. \nFabric Of Community – Interconnectedness PART 2 (OPTIONAL)\nDuring her residency Coleen\, with your help\, is hoping to create 6-8 silk panels painted by local Annapolis and area community members. The painting on paper will serve as a template for Part 2\, a painting on silk. She will invite one person at a time to work with her to create the painting on silk at a mutually suited time. It will take approximately 3-5 hours per person.

DESCRIPTION:My art speaks to my mental health and well-being directly. I have a long and dedicated practice of yoga and meditation that keeps me balanced\, grounded\, and centered in times of emotional stress and difficulties. \nMeaningful and soulful relationships and being immersed in nature also keeps me healthy physically and emotionally. At times a direct experience with nature is reflected in my work and other times the image might come from a dream\, an inspirational line of poetry or an issue I am exploring. This is how I process the challenges and joys in my life. For me\, creating art is a healing practice. \nThe work I am designing for this show will allow the viewer to engage directly with the work. It is my hope that my work inspires and holds a frequency of love and healing. \nThe show opens at 11:00 am on Saturday September 2\, 2023 and runs until September 24\, 2023. \n

SUMMARY:Paint the Town - Annapolis Royal
DESCRIPTION:I am excited to participate in this unique plein air painting weekend as one of the 80 artists who will set up their easels at various locations throughout Annapolis Royal. This popular event draws onlookers and art buyers from around Atlantic Canada and beyond. Emerging and established artists from Canada and the US find a special spot that inspires them to paint\, sculpt\, carve\, photograph or sketch. Spectators can meet the artists at work while watching the creative process unfold on the boardwalk\, the wharf\, at Fort Anne National Historic Site\, the Historic Gardens. As their paintings are finished\, volunteers deliver the artwork to the Paint the Town Gallery at The Royal Canadian Legion\, 66 Victoria St.\, Annapolis Royal\, where patrons can bid during the silent auction process (from 10 am – 6 pm each day)\, or grab the piece of their dreams immediately as each piece has a “buy it now” price (this option available until 5 pm daily).
